DESCRIPTION
Problem: The client's daughter has limited head mobility and low muscle tone, so she often needs assistance when drinking. Her current Nosey cup pours too much fluid at once and spills onto her as her caretaker cannot react quickly enough.
Solution: Our product, the Cup Flow Limiter, is designed to regulate the flow of liquid from a drinking cup to accommodate our client - a young girl who struggles to drink from a regular cup. We 3D-printed a 2-piece cup with the familiar Nosey cup design but with a built-in flow limiter in the attached lid. This design serves to prevent spillage and reduce risk of choking for the user.
Cost: The project budget is 50 CAD.
Potential struggles: For people replicating the design, there may be difficulty with coating the epoxy smoothly and evenly on all sides. The epoxy also requires a prolonged curing time of at least 5 days.
