This Client's son uses a manual wheelchair currently however they would like to be able to give him more independence and be able to use a power wheelchair. He currently cannot use a joystick because of his random arm movements. The client would like to be able to get him to practice using a joystick to control a toy or something similar but needs a way to safely restrain the arm to accurately control the joystick.

Your task is to design an arm support system to be able to restrain arm movement enough to use a stationary joystick. The system must not cause injury to the arm but must be strong enough to limit movement. It must also be mounted to the manual wheelchair in a way that allows joystick use. It must be able to be installed in a way that can accommodate either the right or left arm. It must be easy to install and use. It should be washable and safe for skin contact. Ideally it should be adaptable enough to continue to fit a growing child.
