Project background
Blood tubing has many clips that renal care nurses have to clip and unclip over 100 times per day. This causes many injuries on the thumb due too repetitive stresses. This client is looking for a way to protect the joint and remove as much load as possible on the thumb while operating these clips.
Your task is to design a device that can help nurses clip and unclip the clamps on the rigid plastic blood tubing. It must be ergonomic and be ambidextrous. It must be easily manoeuvrable in fairy tight spaces. It must be durable and withstand many repetitions. It must also be able to be cleaned and sanitized easily. It should also be fairly small to be able to be carried around easily.
