Client Information
Bethany Children’s Health Center is an innovative leader in the field of pediatric rehabilitation and 24-hour complex care. They serve children from birth to 21 years old who have complex medical and physical disabilities. Their goal is to maximize every child’s potential and increase their level of independence. Many of the kids have significant motor deficits which make doing every day things such as walking, sitting, playing, and even communicating very difficult without the use of assistive technology like wheelchairs, standers, and switches. At the center they have this t-shirt folder that the children could use however not many of them can do so without help.
Your task is to design a device which would be able to flip the sides up of the t-shirt folder by itself. The device must be able to be activated by various switches (https://www.especialneeds.com/shop/assistive-technology/switches.html). It must be easy to install and maintain for caregivers. It should also be as rugged as possible.
