Client Information
Stroke victims face many challenges during their rehabilitation due to possible limited mobility or cognitive impairment. For someone who is diabetic and needs to measure their blood sugar levels every day this task can become extremely difficult if you only have one hand to do it. Your task is to design a system that will allow easy and independent operation of a typical glucometer with test strips with only one hand.
Past attempts
There has been no previous attempt to solving this problem. Some products exist which can be used more easily with limited mobility, like an all-in-1 device (https://www.accu-chek.co.uk/meters/mobile) or a continuous monitor (https://www.myfreestyle.com/) however they are expensive and not fully accessible with one hand.
