

DESCRIPTION
There is a ridiculous quantity of child deaths that occur due to heatstroke in a vehicle per year, on average there are 38 deaths per year (NSC). Our group has been tasked to created a product that will detect when a child is present in a vehicle while parked and also notify the surrounding persons and guardians to the situation. Our approach to this issue was a modular system consisting of a Driver Detection Pad, Seatbelt Switch (detecting a child), Sensor Module, Fan, Arduino Housing, and alert system (LED strip, Buzzer, Application). These systems are incorporated into the vehicle to create a reliable and efficient system to detect a child trapped in a vehicle, and notify the guardians and passerby's. Through tireless effort and hours of dedication, this product has reached an ideal outcome and has become a quality product.
