DESCRIPTION
There exists a need for a wireless, low maintenance device capable of alerting operators when the measured dust concentration reaches a set threshold. The design must be adaptable to the existing system, and must communicate with the current user interface.
We created a device for the purpose of measuring dust concentration early in a brewing process line with the purpose of alerting the operators if there was a large enough amount of dust in the system that it could clog the line.
So, we chose to make a device that took a sample of the malt/dust mixture from the piping using a valve, then separated the two using a filter, and measured the volume of each to determine the concentration of dust, then alert the system using a 4-20 ma converter.
It cost roughly $77.68 (BOM is included in files).
