Wheelchair users often have some trouble knowing exactly what their spatial location is and have a tendency to bump into things with their chair. This will most often be walls, doors or objects behind them. Powerchairs are very helpful however they keep driving through obstacles. A system that can help them position themselves and give them warning so that there is no accidental damage to the chair or the surrounding environment or harm themselves or others would be ideal.
