Project background
This client interacts with many individuals who have unilateral limb loss, the injuries range from digit (finger loss) to entire upper extremity limb loss. They currently have a patient with "transradial" amputation (through the radius/forearm bone). Since he has lost his entire hand, he cannot securely grip the fabric with his left residual limb when trying to use his sewing machine.
Your task is to design a device which can help an amputee while they are using a sewing machine. It must be simple and help put pressure on or grip/guide the fabric to be able to guide it through the machine. It must not damage to the fabric or the machine. It must be easy to clean and comfortable to use. It should work for all kinds of fabrics and thicknesses. It should also not be machine dependant.
