Project background
Shabodi is looking for different use cases that can be implemented with their AEP network APIs. They have proposed multiple projects, each team will pick one.
SIM Swap Fraud
SIM Swap Fraud
In an enterprise or private 5G network, user equipment (UEs) is granted access to both the network and its data. SIM cards are susceptible to duplication, and in the event of a SIM swap in a private network, the new UE can potentially gain unauthorized access to network resources and data.
Your task is to develop an application that utilizes Shabodi AEP network APIs to detect and notify the network administrator of a SIM swap. The network administrator can take the following actions upon receiving an alert:
- Acknowledge and Accept the Swap: By acknowledging the alert, the network administrator confirms that the SIM swap is legitimate.
- Deprecate QoS and locate the UE: If the swap is unauthorized, the network administrator can instruct the application to reduce the Quality of Service (QoS) for the UE. This action limits the UE's bandwidth to a level that allows the system to pinpoint the UE's location.
The application will also provide the network administrator with the UE's location for further investigation. Additionally, it will record and store all information related to the SIM swap event, such as:
- Data and time
- Action taken
- SIM information
- UE information
- Etc. ....
Restricted zone alerting
Many enterprises aim to limit the movement of UEs within their campuses for several reasons:
- Preventing Explosions: In certain areas, UEs can trigger explosions due to the radiant energy generated by transmitting radio frequencies, making it essential to restrict their movement.
- Health and Safety Concerns: Some zones within an enterprise are designated as off-limits to certain UEs for health and safety reasons. For instance, Autonomous Guided Vehicles (AGVs), such as remotely driven forklifts, should be confined to specific areas and dedicated paths to prevent harm to individuals.
Your task is to develop an application that leverages Shabodi AEP network APIs, enabling network administrators to graphically define and outline multiple restricted zones and specify which UEs are permitted access. The application will also alert the network administrator if an unauthorized UE enters a restricted zone and can trigger audible alarms if necessary.
The application will also provide the network administrator with the UE's location for further investigation. Additionally, it will record and store all information related to the unauthorized access event, such as:

Smart Glass assistance
Smart glasses, equipped with cameras, speakers, microphone and heads-up displays, can assist visually impaired individuals as they navigate their daily activities. Most smart glasses are connected to a 5G connected smartphone (UE) via Bluetooth.
Your task is to develop an application that leverages Shabodi AEP network APIs to assist visually impaired individuals (with poor eyesight, not complete blindness) using smart glasses, the application will include the following features:
- Provide audible instructions, activated by voice command, based on network location services to guide the user from one location to another.
- Display visual instructions on the heads-up display, also based on network location services.
- Utilize the video stream from the glasses' camera to identify obstacles in the user's path, and:
- Adjust the audible navigation instructions accordingly.
- Display a warning on the heads-up display.
Smart Glass Mentor
Smart glasses, equipped with cameras, speakers, microphone and heads-up displays, can assist people in 'augmented reality' in daily activities. Most smart glasses are connected to a 5G connected smartphone (UE) via Bluetooth.
Your task is to develop an application that leverages Shabodi AEP network APIs to enable senior employees to remotely mentor junior employees using smart glasses. In a scenario where a junior employee is troubleshooting a manufacturing problem, such as an assembly line malfunction, and lacks the experience to quickly resolve the issue, they can use their smart glasses to contact a remote mentor for guidance. The glasses will function as a hands-free communication device, allowing the remote mentor to provide real-time assistance and use the glasses' heads-up display to telestrate, which the junior employee can view and follow. The application will include the following features:
- Hands free two way communications, initiated using voice commands.
- One way video communications.
- Remote senior employee is able to telestrate - highlight things on the remote video they see. The telestrations are then viewable by the junior employee in the glasses heads up display.
