This client cannot get out of bed independently and reach their light switch or blinds. They have to ask a caregiver many times a day to adjust these things for them. Some home assistant solutions exist however they tend to be very expensive and don't necessarily offer comfortable ways that this client can control the peripherals. 

Your task is to design a system that will allow the client to independently control their light or blinds. You can choose one or the other, or tackle both if you think you have time. The control remote must be well secured to their bed and very rugged since they will try to throw it. It must be easy to understand and simple to activate. It must be easy to clean and maintain.
