People who use power wheelchairs often are not capable of picking up objects from the ground because of various factors including dexterity and mobility. This client is looking for a way to pick an object from the ground and either bring it back to herself (sitting in the chair) or put it on a table nearby.

Your task is to design an arm that can be mounted to a power chair while not interfering with it's regular operation. It must be able to fold in to allow users to pass through doorways and not damage the arm. It must be controlled with buttons which would ideally be adjustable for different users. The arm should be able to reach down about 2ft to the ground and 1ft up to the user for drop off from where it is mounted.

Votre tâche consiste à concevoir un bras qui peut être monté sur un fauteuil motorisé sans interférer avec son fonctionnement régulier. Il doit pouvoir se replier pour permettre aux utilisateurs de passer les portes sans endommager le bras. Il doit être contrôlé avec des boutons idéalement réglables pour différents utilisateurs. Le bras doit pouvoir descendre environ 2 pieds jusqu'au sol et 1 pied jusqu'à l'utilisateur pour le déposer de l'endroit où il est monté.
