Different types of lifts exist to help adults get out of bed, transfer from one place to another, etc but they are usually big, hydraulic and extremely expensive. For a parent with an impairment there is no cheap solution to aid with lifting a child from the ground.

Your task is to design a manual device to support an adult while lifting a child from the ground to a higher level. It needs to be stable so that a squirming child is secure in the device. It should have safety features so that it is impossible to drop the child. It must reduce the load on the parent as much as possible while being simple and easy to maintain. It must also be able to lift from the ground to a stroller or a high chair.
