Project background
This client uses a wheelchair to move around and when not in their chair will be lying on the ground. They do not have a very long reach and have limited mobility. Therefore grabbing items from the floor when in the wheelchair or grabbing items from the kitchen counter/table when on the floor is nearly impossible.
Your task is to design a motorized arm that would be long and sturdy enough to reach for things like cups or containers from the counter or anything that may have dropped on the floor and bring it back to the user's lap. The arm should be controlled via a simple mobile app where people with different disabilities could be able to control it.
