Contexte du projet
As the Covid pandemic is slowly abating, the World Health Organization declared mental health the next pandemic. The stresses brought on by social isolation, overwork or lost jobs, and the pandemic's economics have dramatically impacted the mental health of the population. Some geographic areas have more resources than others, so it would be interesting to see if a provincial Jiffy type app could be developed to connect remote patients with counselors or psychologists in other areas via remote video conferencing. For example, a patient in Thunder Bay could open the app and state they have availability on Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 pm or Thursday from 10:00 to 11:00 am. A counselor in Ottawa can look at their calendar and see an opening on Tuesday at 3:00 pm and arrange a virtual counseling session.
The business model can be one-on-one, with each side providing their connectivity. The patient could work with entities like Contact North, which has over 115 sites across Ontario, to facilitate connectivity to rural and underserved communities.
Your task is to develop a system that will allow patients and doctors to connect remotely while being easy to use, reliable and accessible for all.
