Project background
Many people with diabetes take mealtime insulin which is fast acting and helps to control blood sugar spikes when you eat. The amount of insulin to take will depend on what you are eating and how much exercise you do. Many existing apps to help calculate this amount are overly complex and generally need hours of food input manually or corrections to databases. Your task is to design an app that can overlay a pie chart on a picture of a meal and guide the user through inputting carb/protein/vegetable portions as well as sauces or other add-ons to calculate the amount of insulin needed. It could also have tips and remind people of hidden sugars for example and have reminders for medication times, hydration and exercise. The application should also incorporate text and speech input and output and can coordinate with home assistants.
