DESCRIPTION
Our group has developed a guiding cane, allowing a visually impaired user to be guided by a sighted acquaintance, while remaining socially distanced by up to six feet. The cane extends and collapses to various lengths, and features a haptic feedback navigation system to direct the two users. There also exists an interchangeable end on the cane, allowing the blind person to switch between a handle and a typical white cane tip, depending on their need.
