DESCRIPTION
  • Problem Statement: Our objective is to design an adjustable, versatile, & cost-efficient table for children with disabilities, specifically those with hindered motor skills, that can accommodate everyday tasks & be compatible with a wheelchair.
  • Solution: Our solution features an H-frame base for stability, adjustable legs with aluminum rods for height variation, and a sliding mechanism secured with pins for easy customization. This design addresses the client's needs for a versatile, user-friendly table that caters to different height requirements and ensures stability during use.
  • Cost: ~$100
  • Important details/struggles that people may face while duplicating our design: When attempting to replicate our design, individuals may encounter specific challenges. For instance, the 3D printed wheel adapters' compatibility relies on the wheelbase measurements, potentially requiring customization. Milling the holes in the aluminum beams for the table legs demands precision and might pose difficulties in replication. Determining the tabletop size is critical, influencing the attachment method to the legs. These details highlight the importance of careful consideration and accurate measurements during the duplication process.
