DESCRIPTION
Our task was to adapt an existing treadmill machine so that someone can walk backwards comfortably and be able to exercise with it safely. We had to meet numerous requirements including making our product intuitive to install, easy to maintain and compatible with different treadmills. It also had to be easily removed from the machine and easy to store. Our product also had to be easy to clean like other gym equipment and be adjustable for different people.
We accomplished this through an attachable brace bar that is secured to the hand rails on each side of the treadmill. The clamps are secured then the backrest is centred. Our backrest can be adjusted up and down to account for different people. A welded double bar provides significant support, support brackets for each hand rail handle any moment on the bar, and large grips for the clamps make it easy to install.
